Mackenzie Morrow is an up-and-coming artist from South Carolina. Fusing elements of pop, electronic, hip hop, and punk, she puts deep, vulnerable lyrics at the forefront of her songs, creating what she calls “therapy pop.” She states “I write about whatever it is that I’m dealing with, and I share that because I know I’m not the only one going through it. I hope that sharing my experiences can encourage others and remind them that they are not alone.” While she started out as an instrumentalist at a young age, songwriting most accurately embodies who she is as a person and an artist.
She released her debut album, Black Butterfly, in 2023. The album explores topics such as mental health, relationships, emotional abuse, faith, feeling like an outcast, self acceptance, and more. The album’s opening track, “Used to It,” is featured on the 2025 season of Temptation Island, and the music video to the sixth track, “Self,” has been selected for several film festivals.
Mackenzie’s most recent endeavor is an acoustic project centered around love. She got married in October of 2024, and just released Love Me Still in March of this year. It is a two-song project she recorded for her wedding. Named after the original she wrote for her husband, it also includes a cover of “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol.
